The new Guild Wars expansion, Eye of the North, is supposed to act as a bridge between the first 3 Guild Wars installments and Guild Wars 2, slated for release in 2008. The new expansion takes place 6 years after the campaign that occurred in Prophecies which places the occurrences found in Eye of the North 3 years after Nightfall and 8 years since the occurrence of "The Searing".
