One of many mysterious ring-shaped super structures that were collectively called Haloes and gave the series its name, Installation 04 played a prominent role in the first edition of the opening part of the video game series. They were created by the strange race of celestial beings, the Forerunners. The Covenant, the villainous alien alliance that plays the major antagonistic role in the game, reverentially describes it as a sacred ring or a holy ring.
